The residents and visitors at the RBH Threlkeld Court Social Club received a boost to their facilities and social activities thanks to a welcomed grant of £9,058 from National Lottery Awards for All.
The residents held a special evening celebration as they luxuriated in their new Communal Lounge furniture and enjoyed the entertainments.
As well as sprucing up the lounge the money will be used to fund several new activities at their scheme in the coming months.
Tony Heaford, Chairperson of the group said: “We would like to say thank you to the Lottery. The residents are over the moon with the new furniture. It’s really given people a lift, and it’s going to allow residents to take part in lots of different activities in the future.”
Helen Kelsall from the RBH Community Partnership Team who helped the group with their grant application said “I’m really pleased the group were successful. Something like this can make a big difference in people’s lives.”
National Lottery Awards for All offers funding from £300 to £10,000 to support projects and activities that matter to people and communities.
