26 families in Heywood are set for their first Christmas in their new RBH homes, following the completion of the second phase of RBH’s Longridge Drive development.
The development incorporates 19 two-bedroom houses, four three-bedroom houses and three two-bedroom bungalows, all for affordable rent. All the homes have been let, with new tenants moving in from October 2016. The development was designed by Greater Manchester based architects TADW, and constructed by Cruden Group.
The £3.1m scheme has been funded by RBH with the support of a £546,000 grant from the Homes and Communities Agency, the national agency that helps create successful communities by making more homes and business premises available to those who need them.
This is the second new RBH development on Longridge Drive. The first phase, completed in summer 2013, saw the construction of 14 new family homes and bungalows for affordable rent; these have proven extremely popular and a valuable addition to the local community in the Heady Hill area.
Clare Tostevin, RBH Director of Communities, said:
“These 26 new homes provide more high-quality affordable homes for local people in Heywood. Since 2013 we have provided 40 brand-new homes in Heady Hill. These have proven extremely popular and have been a valuable addition to the local community in Heywood.”
