Reward offered for information on Heywood glue vandals

RBH are offering a reward for information leading to a conviction after a string of serious vandalism incidents in Heywood. Vandals who have superglued shut locks in the central Heywood area have now targeted over 100 homes and garages.

In the latest incident, 37 front doors at Marlor Court were glued overnight on 11th August, adding to the 45 homes and 25 garages which had already been targeted on Crown Road, High Street and South Avenue.

Peter McHugh, RBH Responsive Repairs manager, said:

“These incidents are causing enormous inconvenience to local residents and are putting the safety and health of vulnerable tenants at risk. There is also the significant cost to RBH of repairing the locks and doors; this money would be better spent on delivering services and improving our homes. If you have any information which might help to identify the culprit or culprits, please pass it on to local police and to RBH.”

Residents with any information should contact local police on 101 and can also get in touch with the RBH Enforcement Team on 01706 273974. It is also possible to report anonymously to Crimestoppers on freephone 0800 555 111.
