Benefits - Carers Allowance
What is it?
Is paid to people, who spend at least 35 hours per week caring
for a severely disabled person, in receipt of either Attendance
Allowance or middle or high rate care component of Disability
Living Allowance or Constant Attendance Allowance.
Who is eligible?
- You need to be age 16 or over.
- You will earn less than £100 per week.
- You do not have to live with the person for which you
care.
- You cannot be in full time education with 21 hours or more a
week of supervised study.
How much will I get?
The weekly rate is £53.90. This is reduced by the amount of
certain other benefits, including State Pension that you receive.
If you receive certain other benefits at £53.90 or more a week,
Carer's Allowance cannot be paid to you as well.
