Money Saving Tips - Leisure

  • Go to cinemas on days when they hold special cheap/discount offers. Orange phone users can get Orange Wednesdays – text FILM to 241. They send you a code & you use that at participating cinemas to get 2 tickets for the price of one.
  • Avoid buying tickets for cinema or concerts online if possible as there will be additional charges for booking it online.
  • When at the cinema avoid buying drinks/confectionary from the lobby as they are often overpriced. Take your own!
  • When looking to buy DVDs or games try high street retailers who have a pre-owned range. You can also take your DVD/games in to part exchange on a new/pre-owned DVD or game.
  • When shopping for clothes don’t settle for the costly big brand names. Look around - you will find cheaper alternatives that are just as good value in other high street stores and some supermarkets.
  • The same can apply to beauty products. The majority of the time you are paying for the brand name not the product and what it contains.
  • Now that TV is fully digital does not mean you have to pay a monthly contract for digital TV. Buy a Freeview box which is free after a one off payment. And you can get up to 30 channels all free.
