Brimrod is located in the Bamford ward/electoral division, which is in the constituency of Heywood and Middleton. The neighbourhood consists of approx 206 homes with the majority of them being two and three-bedroomed houses. 

The nearest bus stop is less than half a mile away and the train station is located on Tweedale Street is 1.3 miles away.

Brimrod also benefits from:

  • Mandale Park which is located next to Brimrod and is owned by Rochdale Council, Springfield Park is around a mile away and is owned by Rochdale Council.
  • Brimrod is in between two supermarkets both of which are under two miles away. There are also local shops and a laundrette within a five-minute walk.
  • Eight primary schools, including Brimrod Primary School which is a two-minute walk away. There are five secondary schools within a two-mile radius both of which have bus routes.
  • Eight GPs within a two-mile radius and Urgent Care is under two-miles away. There is a dentist within a 5-minute walking distance located on Roch Valley Way. There are also around ten opticians within a mile radius.
  • The local Job Centre is located at 2 Fleece Street, Rochdale OL16 1LT.
Channings & Waithlands is located in the Kingsway electoral register. The neighbourhood consists of approx. 260 homes with the majority of them being flats. 

These estates are close to public transport for either buses, the tram or trains and offer good links into Manchester. There are regular buses that run along Milnrow Road to both Rochdale Town Centre and Rochdale bus station (No’s 6, 409 & 435). There is also the No 17 bus from Rochdale to Manchester. There is the tram stop on Witley Road Rochdale OL16 5HE that again provides access to the town centre, Oldham and Manchester and on Station Road Rochdale OL11 1HY is the train station with direct travel to Victoria station in Manchester City Centre.

Channings and Waithlands also benefit from:

  • Morrisons supermarket nearby, located just off Kingsway and there is also the Kingsway Retail Park that has McDonalds, Asda Local, Pets at Home, The Range, Greggs, Costa Coffee, Sports Direct, Iceland & B & M. There is the Post Office Collection Centre on Ainsworth Street and the central retail park on Oldham Road, where there is Argos, Matalan, Pound Stretcher and Halfords. Gordon Riggs garden centre & bistro just off Kingsway.
  • A few primary schools, including Sacred Heart Roman Catholic School and Lower Place Primary School.
  • Kingsway Park High School is the most local secondary school in the area also located on Kingsway. Newbold Children’s Centre on Moss Street (for babies and pre-school aged children).
  • GP/Health practises include Wellfield Surgery at 116 Oldham Road and Kingsway Practice at 285a Kingsway.
  • The local Job Centre is located at 2 Fleece Street Rochdale OL16 1LT.
  • Rochdale Borough Council Offices are located at No 1 Riverside Smith Street Rochdale OL16 1HE.
Dicken Green located in the Balderstone/Kirkholt area of Rochdale. The neighbourhood consists of approximately 149 homes with the majority of them being two and three-bedroomed semi-detached houses. 

The nearest tram station is in Rochdale Town Centre and the nearest train station is near to Rochdale Town Centre. There are also buses that run to Rochdale Town Centre.

Dicken Green also benefits from:

  • A local children’s play area which is maintained by Rochdale Boroughwide Housing.
  • Local shops and petrol station nearby. A Post Office, supermarket, dentist, taxi rank, fish and chip shop, coffee and candle shop can be found at the newly built Strand which is located a short walk away in the Kirkholt neighbourhood.
  • Multiple primary schools, secondary schools and sure start centres nearby.
  • The local Job Centre is located at 2 Fleece Street Rochdale.
Freehold and Milkstone are located in the Milkstone and Deeplish electoral ward of Rochdale. The neighbourhood consists of approx. 430 homes, made up of flats, bedsits, and one-four bedroomed properties. The Milkstone area is predominantly houses.

Train and tram stations are within walking distance of the town centre with good transport links to Oldham and Manchester. There are also easily accessible bus routes to Manchester, Bury, Bolton and Oldham.

Freehold and Milkstone also benefit from:

  • A kick pitch opposite Olney block.
  • A play park area with playground equipment for primary school-aged children behind 271 Olney.
  • Broadfield Park, which is a short walk away and is maintained by Rochdale Borough Council and is the oldest park in the borough.
  • A variety of local shops selling English, Kurdish, Asian, Polish food.
  • 271 Olney is the paint shop which belongs to RBH and sells paint and painting equipment to the public at a reduced cost. There are two main supermarkets a short walk away. Asda and Aldi are both located on Dane Street Rochdale.
  • A number of easily accessible primary schools in the locality;
  • Ashfield Valley – New Barn Lane OL11 1TA, Broadfield Community Primary – Sparrow Hill OL16 1QT & Deeplish Primary Academy – Derby Street OL11 1LT.
  • Both Oulder Hill and Falinge Park High Schools are within an easy commute. Beech House is an Independent School but is directly opposite the estate and accepts children between the age of two and 16.
  • There are two well-used community centres including Deeplish on Hare Street OL11 1JT, that hosts a wide range of services and activities and Castlemere on Tweedale Street OL11 1HH, that offers services for the Asian community.
  • Health and GPs including Nye Bevan House on Maclure Road which has Doctors, Dentists, Physiotherapy, Sexual Health, Healthy Minds and a number of other services.
  • Places of worship including mosques and St Johns catholic church all local.
  • The local Job Centre is located at 2 Fleece Street Rochdale OL16 1LT
Kirkholt & Stoneyvale are located in the Balderstone/Kirkholt ward of Rochdale. The neighbourhood consists of approximately 1555 homes, primarily made up of two and three-bedroomed houses on Kirkholt and one, two and three-bedroomed flats on Stoneyvale. 

Buses run into Rochdale Town Centre and Oldham Town Centre very frequently.

Kirkholt and Stoneyvale also benefit from:

  • Spacious green areas for dog walking and children's play area with swings, roundabouts and BMX track. This area is managed by Rochdale Borough Council. The Kirkholt Millions Group fund many projects to improve the park facilities and the estate in general.
  • The newly developed Strand HUB. The Strand consists of various shops including a supermarket, post office, general store, coffee/cake/scented candle shop, community café, taxi rank, pharmacy, dentist and fish and chip shop. There is also the Strand Hub which in addition to providing lots of events/activities daily, is also the home of the Kirkholt Pantry where food can be purchased at a vastly reduced price one morning per week.
  • Sure Start Centres, primary and secondary schools in close proximity.
  • A medical centre on Kirkholt however a brand new medical centre is currently being built at The Strand on Kirkholt.
  • The local Job Centre is located at 2 Fleece Street Rochdale.
Kirkholt neighbourhood has undergone regeneration where new build properties have been finished and many existing properties having driveways laid.  Plans are already underway for approx. 50 new houses to be built on Kirkholt which will be completed around Summertime 2022.
Meadway is located in the South and Pennines of Rochdale. The neighbourhood consists of approx 127 homes, made up of three-bedroomed houses. 

There are bus stops within a few minutes walk located on the main road (Bolton Road) and also a train stop at Castleton within half a mile.

Meadway, Chesham and Kirklee also benefit from:

  • Springfield Park, which is within two miles and is owned by Rochdale Council, there is a small play area off Ennerdale Road owned by Rochdale Council and some open green space on Kingsland road and some more open space on Meadway, all owned by Rochdale Council.
  • Tesco supermarket, which is within walking distance of less than half a mile. There is a corner shop located on the corner of Ennerdale Road.
  • Eight primary schools and two secondary schools within a mile.
  • Ten GP practices within a mile and a half, including Castleton Health Centre which is located nearby and has a Chemist attached to it. Urgent care is around two miles away and the nearest A&E is Fairfield which is around three miles away.
  • There are three dental surgeries approximately a mile away and numerous opticians located within two miles.
  • The local Job Centre is located at 2 Fleece Street, Rochdale OL16 1LT.
