About Membership

Membership is what makes Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) special. RBH is owned by our tenant  and employee members. This means that our members are shareholders with each member owning one share in RBH in line with the principle of one member – one vote!

If you are 18 years of age or over and you are an RBH tenant, live with an RBH tenant or work for RBH you can apply to join now.

Please note: the joining form is for existing tenants and employees of RBH who wish to become a member. If you are looking for a home and would like to register with our HomeChoice service, please visit our Find A Home pages.

All our members can have a say and play a part in the decisions that affect our priorities and how we manage homes, deliver services and support communities. By working together we achieve more.

  • The annual report to members shows how members have been involved, what the Representative Body have been doing and their priorities for the coming year.  Read the latest version:  Annual Report To Members 2017[pdf] 8MB

Membership Strategy

Membership Strategy

Our members have worked with us to develop the strategy.  The aims of the membership are to:

  • Increase the membership of RBH and ensure it reflects the diversity of our tenants and employees.
  • Develop an active membership base by providing members with opportunities to develop/design, decide upon and evaluate service changes as set out in the Engagement Strategy. To ensure the diversity of active members reflects that of the total membership.

  • Build relationships with people who may be interested in becoming a Representative and encourage and support them to stand for election. Work together with Representatives to ensure they are able to effectively fulfil their role and ensure the mutual values of RBH are upheld.

  • Continue to develop a package of member benefits, which are valued by our members and support both individuals and communities.

  • Promote and champion membership of RBH
