Changes to RBH services for Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th July

The Met Office have issued a red weather warning of extreme heat which applies to Greater Manchester and much of England for Monday and Tuesday. A red warning means substantial risk to life as well as wider disruption. As a result of this red warning, we have taken the following action:

  • We will be carrying out twice-daily welfare checks on tenants in our Independent Living Schemes and at Hare Hill Extra Care.
  • We are suspending the Neighbourhood Environment Team service on Monday and Tuesday. Team members will be on call to respond to emergencies.
  • The repairs service will undertake emergency appointments only on Monday and Tuesday – if you have an appointment scheduled, our team will be in touch to rearrange.
  • RBH colleagues have been asked to work from home unless they are unable to do so, and we ask all employees and tenants to avoid non-essential travel.
  • All non-essential meetings and events have been cancelled, including the RBH Representative Body election drop-in session due to be held at the Pioneers Museum on Tuesday. The deadline for nominations will be extended to Friday 22nd July. The online session on Monday 18th July will proceed as planned.

Our overriding priority is the health and wellbeing of our tenants, employees, and communities. Please take care and follow the advice and guidance issued by the NHS and the Met Office.
