Coronavirus restrictions: an update from RBH

An update from RBH following the Government's announcement of additional local restrictions in parts of northern England on 30th July 2020.

As you will be aware, yesterday evening (Thursday 30th July) the Government announced additional coronavirus restrictions on large parts of northern England, including the whole of Greater Manchester. These rules are in additional to the local guidance issued over the past two weeks by Rochdale Council and the local NHS.

We know that these will have a big impact on many local residents – and in particular for those with plans already made for the next few days – but it is vitally important that we all follow these to stop the spread of infection.

There is still a very real possibility that further rules may need to be introduced. These would have an even greater impact on our communities and on the services that we are able to provide.

A full list of the new rules is available on the Department of Health and Social Care website.

Our day-to-day services can continue as they have been doing over the last few weeks. We are very proud of our colleagues, who have shown care and professionalism in their duties to help keep everyone safe. Our teams follow comprehensive and up-to-date risk assessments. We are very grateful to all our tenants for their patience and understanding. If you are due an appointment with us and have any symptoms of COVID-19, or you are self-isolating, please let us know immediately as we will need to reschedule your appointment.

Unfortunately, the new rules mean that we will not be able to accept any visitors to our independent living schemes or to our extra care scheme. Our concierge is also unable to admit visitors through the communal areas at College Bank. Only essential workers such as carers will be able to visit.

For more information, you can visit the dedicated pages on the Rochdale Council website and on the RBH website.

The health and wellbeing of our tenants, employees, and communities continues to be our overriding priority. We continue to be proud and overwhelmed by how everyone has worked together to stay safe during the pandemic. Please continue to follow the rules to protect ourselves, our families, our neighbours, and our communities.
