New keys, new start

Woman getting Keys 2

Earlier this year, RBH completed the build of 25 new, affordable homes for Shared Ownership in the Hollin area of Middleton.

As well as enabling families and first-time buyers to take their first steps into Home ownership, Shared Ownership enables people to make a new start should their circumstances change.

We were proud to be able to hand the keys for these brand new homes to their owners, who were looking forward to starting new chapters in their lives. One of these owners, Ombretta, a key worker for the NHS, shared with us that getting the keys to her new home symbolised a new start for her after she got divorced. She never thought she would be able to afford a home by herself and was overjoyed that with shared ownership her dream became a reality.

When Sofie Leroux, RBH's Sales and Marketing Manager, captured the happy moment she received her keys, we wanted to share her story and the image with you.

When developing our new corporate website, we couldn't think of a better image for our home page and, with Ombretta's permission, we have used it on our website and on some of our recent social media posts.

Head of Transformation, Jan Heath said, "We were really inspired by Ombretta's story and delighted that her new home had made such a difference. It’s a great example of how we are working together to improve the lives of our customers."

We have recently spoken with Ombretta who says she is so excited to be part of this project and, for her, it is the icing on the cake after getting the keys to her new home.
