We know our customers want to live in a warm, safe and well-maintained place that they are proud to call their home.
That’s why our priority is helping to create homes where people want to live and raise their families in.
A big part of that is our kitchen replacement plan. We know a kitchen isn’t just a place where you cook food it’s also where you eat meals with your families, socialise and share a brew with a neighbour.
Last year we replaced 650 kitchens in homes across the borough.
This work is making a real difference to the lives of our customers. We know because they are telling us so.
When we were putting together our Corporate Strategy for the next three years one of the takeaways was: “Customers are very satisfied with the quality of our homes when they move in. They also told us that they valued the investment work we have delivered over the past two years with many commenting on the quality of the new kitchens and bathrooms they have had installed and the difference this has made to their home.”
This year we are looking to install another 650 kitchens, investing approximately £4.5m.
The finishing touches are currently being sorted on Sabrina Branwood’s new kitchen and she is very pleased with the results.
She said: “I was nervous about the work at first and I’m sure other people would be as well. But the end results are worth it.
“I think my favourite bit, that I loved, was not only seeing my kitchen come together, but actually being able to have input into the design and layout so I could get a space that would be more functional from a tenant perspective.
“The previous kitchen had only one space left to fit a fridge freezer and that was right next to a radiator, where it wasn’t meant to be, so making the space more functional was very important to me.
“I’ve already set out myself a coffee and breakfast bar that I will be making a lot of cappuccinos at.”
Sabrina, who is a Selective Mutism Sufferer, also praised the teams from Equans who she said were fantastic with her and did their best to adapt as all communication was via email.
We are really pleased Sabrina likes her new kitchen and hope she gets a lot of use out of it over the coming months and years. Having any work done in your home can be very stressful but our teams aim to make it as easy as possible for customers. This kitchen replacement programme is just one of the many home investment schemes our Asset Management Team are working on across the borough as we look to create thriving communities.
