At RBH, we want everyone to feel welcome and like they belong, whether they are a customer, colleague visitor or some working with us to help improve the Borough.

Our Vision is to create an environment where every individual is seen, heard, and empowered.

We will create a culture where diversity is valued and used as an asset.

This will underpin all that we do to support people to thrive.

We will do three things to help us achieve our vision.

In our Our Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Strategy 2025-28, we call these our “pillars” – engage, empower, and evaluate.

  • Engage:  We will get to know you better to help us to make decisions.
If we know our people and communities better, we’ll make better decisions. We want to make sure that we listen to everyone. We will communicate openly and allow everyone to share their ideas. This will help us to work together and be more inclusive.

  • Empower: We’ll do this all together
We can only improve and make sure everyone is heard if we do things together. We will make sure that our communities and customers have the confidence, skills, and resources they need so that they can share ideas, experiences, and solutions.

  • Evaluate:  We’ll look at what works well so that we can continue to improve
We’ll look at all the things we do so that we can understand what worked well, and what didn’t work well. This helps us to improve in the future. If something isn’t working, we’ll change it. We’ll use this evaluation to make sure we continue meet the needs of our customers and colleagues.

Help us to help you - the importance of providing your diversity information

At RBH, collecting diversity information from our customers helps us understand who lives in our homes and communities.

This information helps us make sure our services are fair, inclusive and accessible to everyone, whatever their background and or circumstances.

It helps us spot where people may face barriers, understand different needs and make better decisions about the services we provide.

By sharing your information through our Customer Conversations
, you help us make sure every voice is heard, every customer is valued and no one is left behind.

Your information will be handled confidentially and used responsibly to help us improve the services we provide as your landlord.

Who we are working with to achieve our vision

We believe in supporting and helping customers across all our communities.

To help us do this with we work closely with a number of organisations and groups in Rochdale and Greater Manchester.

Groups and organisations we work with

  • Stop Social Housing Stigma

This is a customer led campaign that collaborates the value of social housing and its residents, working together to challenge the stereotypes and stigma that come from others who don't live in social housing.

RBH has pledged to support the movement, and we are lucky to have one of our own customers as a leader within this campaign.
