I have been an RBH tenant for 19 years and serve as an appointed member of the national Housing Ombudsman Service Resident Panel. I am also proud to have been shortlisted for an RBH community volunteer award in 2020 for my local dedication. These varied experiences as a long-term resident, recognised volunteer, and active advocate give me a unique, deeply rooted perspective on the challenges our community faces and what tenants truly need from their housing provider.
I firmly believe that an authentic, proactive, and transparent tenant voice is essential to driving positive improvements within RBH. My role on the national Housing Ombudsman Resident Panel allows me to engage directly with sector-wide housing regulation and complaint-handling standards. Bringing this national insight back to Rochdale will help ensure our local services are scrutinised thoroughly and held to the highest possible standards of accountability.
With this combination of local dedication and regulatory insight, I am deeply committed to helping RBH deliver transparent, fair, and high-quality outcomes for all tenants and the wider community that rely on social housing, to the best of my abilities.
