I was born in Kashmir and raised in the United Kingdom, and I am a proud Rochdalian with a deep-rooted commitment to community cohesion. Over the years, I have actively contributed to local voluntary and faith-based organisations, helping to foster inclusive engagement across Rochdale’s diverse communities.
I have served as a Councillor for Kingsway Ward since 2012, participating in numerous Council committees and holding the office of Mayor of Rochdale from 2024 to 2025. I currently chair the Council’s Planning Committee.
In my role as a Council Representative on the Representative Body, I aim to bring experience, dedication, and a strong sense of civic responsibility to support transparent and inclusive governance.
