We would like to invite you to attend a short Special Members’ Meeting (SMM) of RBH on Monday 12 January 2026 between 5.30pm and 5.45pm. This will be an online meeting taking place via Zoom. This is being held to ask Members to appoint our external auditor.
Our external auditor takes an independent look at our accounts and procedures to make sure that our accounts are in good order and that we’re looking after our finances properly. We are legally required to appoint an external auditor, and in line with paragraph 7.3 of our Mutual Rules, the Society’s auditor will be appointed by our Members.
Our previous external auditor, Beever and Struthers, have recently merged with another organisation, Menzies LLP. We have recently completed a public procurement exercise to appoint a new external auditor for the next three years of financial statements, plus an option for an additional fourth year. We are asking members to appoint Menzies LLP as our new external auditor.
The meeting has been called for members to consider the following resolution:
Resolution to approve Menzies LLP as RBH’s external auditor for a three-year period plus the option for an additional year
At the meeting, all attending Members will receive a brief presentation outlining the matter under consideration, followed by an immediate vote. The outcome of the vote will be confirmed during the session.
