Our top priority throughout the pandemic remains everyone’s health, safety, and wellbeing. One of our values is “responsibility” and we have a clear responsibility not just for our tenants and employees but also for all our families and friends and the wider community. We all know someone who is vulnerable or at higher risk.
In January, we decided to stop all non-urgent repairs within homes during the current lockdown. We are currently only carrying out emergency repairs and essential safety checks. This is to keep everyone as safe as possible, and we review this situation regularly.
For those colleagues undertaking emergency work, we have clear guidelines in place to minimise risk, and our teams are now regularly undertaking FAST testing as part of their working week.
I am very grateful for your continued understanding when we make difficult but responsible decisions about our services to keep people safe, and for your patience as our teams continue to deliver services while facing the challenges of the pandemic – including working from home, juggling childcare, and delays in our supply chains.

I remain extremely proud of the way we have all worked together to respond to the challenges of COVID-19 - especially the protection and support provided to those who needed this help the most. I know you are proud too - our recent surveys show that satisfaction amongst tenants has increased despite the challenges of the pandemic, and our December employee survey told us that over 92% of employees were proud to work for RBH.
Our mutual RBH gives our tenants and employees the opportunity to be at the heart of how we plan to build back better, and I am looking forward to discussing this further with you later this year - make sure you get involved!
Best wishes and stay safe,
RBH Chief Executive
