New homes boost for Heywood

More social housing is on the way in Heywood!

We're really pleased to announce that we have secured planning consent to build 12 new homes on the corner of Peel Lane and Ash Street.

Our proposals will see 12 new two, three, and four bedroom family homes with gardens built for genuinely affordable rent. The plans will bring a derelict brownfield site back into use and deliver new social housing to help provide the quality and mix of homes needed by local people in Heywood.

The new homes, funded jointly by RBH and with Government grant funding via the Great Places strategic partnership with Homes England. They have been designed by north west architects BYA. Work is scheduled to start in November 2020 with homes set to be ready in autumn 2021.

We had some great feedback from the local community at our consultation event at the beginning of the year, and we’re excited to get permission to deliver new social housing for the benefit of the local community in Heywood.
