We've submitted plans to build more new homes in Kirkholt

Another step forward for the heart of Kirkholt

Proposed Visual

Even more genuinely affordable rented homes could be on their way to Kirkholt - we have submitted plans for 20 further new homes on Balderstone Road!

These 20 two and three bedroom new homes will all be social housing for genuinely affordable rent and will further complement the recent regeneration of the heart of Kirkholt. These homes will help to meet our goal of increasing the supply of genuinely affordable homes to rent in Rochdale Borough, as well as continuing the regeneration of the Strand area.

We’re really pleased to be able to put forward plans to deliver even more high quality and genuinely affordable social housing in Kirkholt and to continue the strong partnership work which has delivered new homes and fantastic new facilities for the local community

Clare Tostevin RBH Director of Growth

By working in partnership with Rochdale Council and the local community, we have already delivered new homes, new shops for local businesses, and the new community space at the Strand Hub. A separate application for 32 new homes, also all for genuinely affordable rent, was submitted to the Council earlier in 2020.

These new homes have been designed by Triangle Architects, who were also responsible for the design of the Strand Hub as well as the adjacent new health centre, delivered by the local NHS Clinical Commissioning Group.

It’s great to see more investment going into Kirkholt. High quality affordable homes are a vital important part of our housing offer and serve an important need. Along with the recent changes on the Strand, this is yet another step in the right direction for this rapidly changing area.
