A view from the Representative Body - Haroon Mirza

As part of Co-operatives Fortnight, we asked our Tenant Representative Haroon Mirza to tell us a little bit about his background and what prompted him to get involved with the RBH mutual.

Hello my name is Haroon and I want to share with you the reason I became actively involved with the RBH Mutual.

I’ve lived in Milnrow for a number of years with my family. I graduated from Buckingham University in 2005 and since then I have been working for various multinational companies. My other part time profession is journalism and I have been working with my local and national communities very closely. This has given me a good insight to some of the issues within communities but also the many positives.

I feel very passionate about putting my experience and education to good use to make a real difference to people’s lives and their communities. I was attracted to the RBH Mutual because it is something I believe in. I wanted to meet people who are passionate about the same things as I am, and being part of RBH Mutual has given me the opportunity to work alongside others to change things for the better.

I would urge anyone with similar interests to put themselves forward to play their part as a Member of RBH.
