Dear RBH Members,

I'm really pleased to be able to provide this update having been re-appointed as Chair of the Representative Body at last week's meeting. I'd like to welcome colleague Representative Rachael Ray as the new Deputy Chair and all the new Representatives who were attending their first meeting. I also want to say thank you to outgoing Deputy Chair Rob Dyson for all his hard work in the role.

I am looking forward to working with all Representatives, new and returning, over the coming year.

At the meeting, Representatives approved RBH's Annual Report To Customers. You can read the report in full on the RBH website. I'm really pleased that as Representatives we were able to provide some extra oversight from both customer and colleague Representatives before the report was published.

We also approved the findings of our most recent scrutiny review. Representatives continue to use our scrutiny powers to help improve our services and communities. Over the past two years, Representative Body recommendations have helped to improve how we deal with complaints, how we gain access to carry out essential safety checks, our approach to anti-social behaviour, how we allocate and let our homes, how the repairs team communities with our customers, and how we manage sub-contractors.

This recent review looked at how we can encourage customers to provide feedback about our investment programme. I'm really pleased that six of our seven recommendations have been accepted, including making sure in future that the way we ask for feedback is tailored to the needs of different customers. You can read more about the review on the RBH website, and I want to say thank you to all the panel members who worked so hard on the review, and also all the RBH team members who took the time to help.

Finally, I want to remind you that being a Member of RBH means becoming part of something bigger. It offers you the opportunity to have a real voice in shaping the services we deliver, influencing decisions that affect your home, workplace, and community, and helping RBH continue to improve and grow. If you're not already a member, it only takes a few moments at www.rbh.org.uk/join to sign up, and I encourage you to do so.

Membership strengthens our organisation. It ensures that RBH continues to listen, respond, and act in ways that reflect the needs and experiences of the people we serve and work alongside. I'm excited for the year ahead and what we can achieve together.

Kindest regards,

Andrew Johnson
Chair of the Representative Body
