I want to let you know about some changes we are making to our repairs service as a result of the most recent news about coronavirus.
Our top and overriding priority continues to be the health, safety, and wellbeing of our tenants, our employees, and the wider community. The COVID-19 infection rate in the Borough of Rochdale is now well over 400 cases per 100,000, and lockdown restrictions are set to continue until at least mid-February. I am extremely proud of how RBH tenants and employees have worked together throughout the pandemic, and it is as important as ever that we follow the NHS guidance to protect our families, our neighbours, and ourselves.
Therefore, in order to minimise the risk to tenants and employees, we have decided that:
- Until further notice we will only carry out emergency and urgent repairs within our homes
- Essential safety checks will continue as scheduled
- We will also continue to complete some external works, where it is safe to do so
- We will keep this under regular review and we will let you know as soon as any further changes are made
For emergency repairs and essential safety checks, we will continue to use the clear procedures that we have put in place to keep you safe and to enable our Repairs Team to work safely. It is really important that if anyone in your household is self-isolating or has symptoms of coronavirus, you must let our team know.
You can continue to report repairs as normal. The easiest way to report a repair is to use our MyRBH portal - visit www.myrbh.org.uk to sign up if you have not done so already. You can also call us on Freephone 0800 027 7769 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
I want to thank you again for your patience and understanding as we continue to work together to support our communities through the pandemic.
The latest RBH service information is available on our website at www.rbh.org.uk/coronavirus. You can also access the latest local and national advice on the Rochdale Council website at www.rochdale.gov.uk/coronavirus.
Best wishes and stay safe,
RBH Chief Executive
